Hillwalking
Hillwalking Terrain Zero / Terrain One
Terrain Zero does not actually require a permit, however the same risks exist in many areas and a basic understanding of navigation and managing the risks is essential to safely take groups out. We offer this course to anyone interested and it's a great pre-cursor to going on to T1 and T2 permits.
Terrain One is defined as any terrain above 500m or more than 30 minutes away from a road which can take a road going ambulance and not in Terrain two (see below). This course is for those who wish to take groups out and would like to work towards a permit. Note that attending the course does not qualify you for a permit, we'd expect most participants to have a consolidation period and then arrange an assessment after the course.
This is a combined T0/T1 course, those with enough experience will be encouraged to take on the T1 pathway.

This course is for those who wish to take groups out and would like to work towards a permit.
