Roverway 2009

Debbie Gallagher from Manchester South District has been appointed as the UK Assistant Contingent Leader for the Roverway 2009 expedition to Iceland next summer.  

Roverway 2009 is an International Scout and Guiding event that takes place in Iceland from 20–28 July 2009.  

The event is open to participants between 16-22 years of age.

From 20–25 July participants will complete a four day expedition along one of several routes across Iceland.
From 25–28 July participants and IST members gather at Úlfljótsvatn Scout Centre, 50km from Reykjavik.
For those aged 23 or over, places are available on the International Service Team (IST).

How to get involved

Contingent registration is now open, participants must register for Roverway in teams of 5-15 people.
One team member must be over 18. This can be a Leader of over 22 years of age.
To build a team, speak to your local Explorer Scout Units and Scout Network members. Start local and build up interest.
You can also register as an individual or small groups. The Contingent team will then put you in touch with others who are in a similar position.
The UK Participant fee is £480, exclusive of air travel.  
The UK IST fee is £350, exclusive of air travel.
